khunsanuk
Hi, My cousin came into Thailand on a VOA and I was under the impression she could extend that at the immigration office for 7 days. However, this site seems to indicate otherwise. Her visa runs out on the 29th and while she is planning to get a 2 month visum in Laos, she planning to leave after the holidays (which would have worked out fine with a 7-day extension). So, does anyone know if the visa can be extended? And if, not what are the options? My guess is that she could go to Poi Pet, cross the border and come back for another 15 (?) days. Possible? Other options? Sanuk!
khunsanuk
Hi, Correction. As someone pointed out to me it isn't a VOA, but a 30 day entry stamp. Same questions apply though. Sanuk!
Pom Michael
Best just to go and apply. Normally it is possible for 7 days at a cost of 1,900 baht. Does she have a ticket to depart within those next 7 days? Bring that and put in the form for reason for extension. Let's us know if it worked out. khunsanuk
Hi, No, no ticket. She is planning to take the train to Nong Khai and leave that way. Guess might as well try on Monday. That way if they decline she can still go to Poi Pet on Tuesday (when her visa expires). Does anyone remember the contact details of that company that does the Poi Pet visa run tours? Sanuk!
cavanami
Go to Bang Na, about 8:30 AM and take the Casino Bus, now 200 Baht. Leaves outside of the Big C store. Jack Golf, runs a commercial bus to Pol Pet. There is also a Phillipino that runs a minivan to fo visa runs, mostly Phillipinos on the bus. I would have to ask around for the contacts details and they may not run everyday. Casino bus is the cheapest. Maybe need a Cambo visa, as US citizens do. Ckrisg
I know it can change weekly in LOS but I have extended 30 days visa on arrival by 7 days numerous times, never been asked for flight or leaving details., No need to do a visa run maybe?? ozpharlap
I have also obtained the 7 days extension, on several occasions and no questions were ever asked on a 30 day stamp. Make sure you have the spare passport size photos and a copy of passport front page and also, a copy of the entry card/visa stamp page (from memory). khunsanuk
Hi, Cousin got her visa extended with 7 days yesterday. Some typical immigration / government crap though: - Officer asked her how many days she wanted the visa extended. She asked "Oh, do I have a choice?", "Yes" replies the officer. So, cousin says "Well, give me 15 days then.". "Can not". "Okay, how about 30 days.". "No". "Okay, what options do I have?". "1 to 7 days". "Uh... okay, then give me 7 days." What the fuck is the point of asking how many days you want if the options are 1 to 7 days? Like anyone is gonna go "Oh, well, I am leaving in 2 days, so just extend it with 2 days." - Cousin got told that her 2-year-old son needs to pay 1,900 Baht as well by one officer, but another told her there was no need. Great clarity guys! Sanuk!
