If it is only accesable by boat how the fuck is it mainland?

OK smart arse' date=' you cannot access it by road or rail or plane (except perhaps sea plane), but yes you could get there if you fancied walking 25 miles over a number of hills, which makes it pretty fecking remote. :neener: [/quote']

So where is the boat you mentioned previously?

I expect it will be at berth in Mallaig at the moment but it'll be setting sail for Inverie (the village in which The Old Forge is located) in about 4 hours (10.15am departure).

The northern part of what is traditionally known as na Garbh-Chrìochan or "the Rough Bounds", because of its harsh terrain and remoteness, Knoydart is also referred to as "Britain's last wilderness". Only accessible by boat, or by a 16-mile (26 km) walk through rough country, its seven miles of tarred road are not connected to the UK road system. There is no vehicle ferry to Knoydart, but passenger services are operated from Mallaig to Inverie by Bruce Watt Cruises,[2] and from Arnisdale and Kinlochhourn to Barisdale by Arnisdale Ferry Service.[3]
