http://NotTheNation.com/ Strangely Silent

The satirical website http://NotTheNation.com/ has been strangely silent since the Red Shirt protests began, causing some in the media to resort to conjecture and guesswork about the possible reasons for the normally side-splittingly funny, website's, inactivity.

Although the identity of the author or authors behind the vastly amusing commentaries on things Thai, are unknown and well concealed, it has been suggested that he, she or they, may well be Red Shirts and thereby too busy to entertain in the style to which many readers around the world have become accustomed.

Others have opined that far from being Red Shirts, the author/s may be being kept captive by Red Shirts and unable to write or to even access the internet.

Several local Expats and Mongers, will tonight (Friday) launch an expedition to the infamous AfterSkool bar in one of Bangkok's red light areas, to see if they can find any individuals who are seeking specialist treatment for writers block.

The Nation's Editorial Staff, whilst normally, mildly amused by the contents of http://NotTheNation.com/, have noticed that without the deep and penetrating insights, normally appearing in NotTheNation, the standards and literacy of the Nation have slipped yet further into vague and T'inglish utterings.

Because of this, the Nation has been trying to "bait" the NotTheNation author/s into action with such headlines as "Red shirts send survival kit to Abhisit", "Rajprasong Dangerous" and "Arisamun escapes arrest by '007 style'". To date there has been no response.

Yet further conjecture has surfaced, detailing a mysterious third hand, who in the past has merely commented on the apparent, idiosyncratic, unusual, incomprehensible, illogical and frequently zany goings on in Thailand, through the mouth piece of NotTheNation.com, and who now, utilising the considerable "third hand power", is having the goings on happen for real, actually that is.

Contacts at the BangkokPost, when asked for an opinion on the silence of NotTheNation were unable to formulate a pertinent response, instead asking if there was a NotTheBangkokPost site, and if so what was it's URL.

Excellent!

Last week, I was looking for some sunscreen before playing golf. Didn't find any, but I found two bottles of that crap! UV protection plus whitener.

Begs the question, 'why did I bring them home from Thailand?' Obvious answer is that, in the rush of packing, I threw them in my shaving kit along with anything else left in my hotel bathroom. :drunk:

Less obvious is why in the world I saved them. Well, I guess because I had regulars and I intended to return them.:crazy::doah:

Update:

The esteemed journal NotTheNation has stirred into life with four new articles portraying witty and insightful observations of the current affairs of Thailand.

Army Vows to Protect King's Castle, King's Castle II

Soldiers on Patpong Distracted by Shirtless Movement

Traffic Deaths Top Civil Unrest Deaths for 86th Consecutive Year

SET Pretends to be Connected to Economy, Falls

Seasoned expats breath a sigh of relief as the return of humour illuminates these dark times.

Rumor has it that the author/authors have resurfaced after a trip up country to visit small establishments purveying food and drinks, and on returning to Bangkok, were astonished and surprised to find turmoil in the streets and everything just as it had been left in their accommodations.
