Missouri voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected a key provision of President Barack Obama’s health care law, sending a clear message of discontent to Washington and Democrats less than 100 days before the midterm elections...

The last time Missouri tried to go its own way was in 1861, when it declared its neutrality in the War Between the States. The federal government reacted by having its troops attack the state militia, capturing the capital and driving the governor and much of the state legislature eventually into Arkansas. A pro-federal minority of the legislature then "removed" the elected guv from office and appointed a non-elected guv from out of state. This guv was followed by another non-elected guv. This is the meaning of true democracy. :D

Let's see what happens this time.

Missouri is saying, "...why do we (Missouri) collect taxes and then send them on to the US gov and beg the US gov to get our little share of the taxes"...

Now Missouri is saying, "we will keep the taxes and send what we think the US gov needs", keeping the power to the state.

Sounds interesting...we will see...

... but Missouri receives $1.32 in Federal spending for each dollar of Federal tax paid!

... so Missouri owes me money. :deal:

Yup, typical red state inbred cocksuckers. Whinge about paying taxes, but take far more than their share. *Every* red state is the same. Funny how the Dem states take less in aid than they pay into the system.

Living in K.C. (on the Kansas side), it was hotter than Hell the last couple of days, so voter turnout was down. It is a non-binding resolution, so people who were passionate about too much government were going to vote for it. What they were voting on was the requirement to purchase health insurance, not all of Obamacare. By the way, Missouri is seen as a bellweather state and is not easily pigeonholed into being either a Red or Blue state. The 2 large cities, K.C. and St. Louis, are definately Democratic, and the rural part (commonly know as the Meth. capitol of the midwest) is Republican. This vote was just posturing by a majority of the state legislature to pander to the wave of voters who see healthcare as the embodiment of a Congress that can't stop itself from spending the U.S. into oblivion.

What a load of crap. CA gets back more than what it pays...a blue state. Anyway, Demoncrat states should be designated "RED", for reasons that are quite obvious. Has nothing to do with red/blue.

And nobody is more of a cocksucker than Obama and his lame-ass, lazy, everybody owes me free "whatever" followers (commonly known as Demoncrats).
