temfarang
US baseball thread: Roger is accused of using a medication that is legal in the USA .. in violation of baseball rules but a 100% legal medication in the US. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/21/sports/baseball/21clemens.html?src=me the US congress is trying to jail a man for using a legal med & 'perhaps' choosing to keep his medical plan private.. .. often mentioned by call-in dummies is a home run record or a career spanning to many years. me, I lubed seeing roger smoke 1 past a blinking bat-er .. or barry / mark wallop the ball outa sight. If the goal is to level the playing field in sport should other modern medicine be ruled out. contact lens, arthroscopic surgery, non-bath tub gin (how good could the Babe have been with aged gin?) The_Munchmaster
I can't imagine why baseball players would need anything to enhance their performance, I mean they're all fat fucks who do little more than wave a bat at a ball while rarely making contact and then go for a wee jog around the diamond. dave32
Isn't there a Kurt Vonnegut story about a society where they prevent any kind of greatness because they want a level playing field. No great atheletes, minds, musicians, dancers, etc. Damn good story. Wish I could remember it.
USVirgin
I was trying to find Tommy Lasorda's classic baseball vs. golf rant in retort to Munchie...couldn't find it. Meanwhile, I found this (though I'm sure 90% of us have already seen it). Are you sure that society you're talking about aint our own? lj3iNxZ8Dww
unit731
CNN in Atlanta USA mandated a rule - no employees allowed smoking. No smokers hired. No smoking period. This was after Ted Turner ruled. Well . . . hmmmm . . . that didn't quite work as they desired. They couldn't get good people to work long hours for cheap money. Smoking rule ban at CNN withdrawn. Okay, its the law but its also about their collective egos. We're the Congress, we want the truth all the time from you even though we regularly lie to the American people. Okay, rant over. Its not like he was lying over something important. A lie is a lie but c'mon? Which brings up another point. The Congress should be staying the hell out of sports. Waste of taxpayer time and money.
