Mainland China?

A friend just returned from there and told me how many women would approach him in Beijing. Compared to Beijing Bangkok feels like the Vatican, was what he said. As it was a short trip he couldn't really figure out their intentions, or whether they were professionals or not.

 

Anybody has more experience about this?

I heard similar stories. I have heard the girls want friendship, possible way out, want to practice English, get information/ideas, any thing at all you can give them from the west. I have heard of so seeking to freelance, but truthfully, I am not sure, as I haven't been. I had planned a trip with a co-worker, which fell through do to labor trouble. Anyway, he gave me a long a firm speech about trying to pick up something in China, as it is a major no no! He claims the penalty is jail/hard labor/fines. He also says the people are so intimidated by the government, they will rat you out in a second to avoid a penalty, and gain a reward! Again not really sure. I heard wild stories about the old Soviet Union, how you could hook up almost anywhere and score for a pair of old Levi's or some canned goods. O.k. if you like to look over your shoulder. I prefer to go to a place that is a little more relaxed, where it is not against the law to have a woman in your room etc...

China is exactly like any country in the world! Girls are available at hotels, discos, bars, massage parlours, on the street.

 

The main problems is that Chinese girls are generally not so good and efficient bed partners like Thai or other Asian girls. The language is another barrier, as very few speak fluent english and many do not speak english at all!

 

 

 

If you go to Beijing, go to Passion Disco (in the basement of the Great Wall Sheraton) and you will see tens of beautiful girls, many of them available to join you in your room.

I was in Beijing for one week in the summer of 2000. I spent each day of the trip walking around for several hours. In my entire time there, only one woman ever approached me - near as I can figure, she was a tout for some art show!

 

 

 

Either your friend looks like Brad Pitt, he is exaggrating, or Beijing has changed a lot in the last 2 years.

 

 

 

I've mentioned this before, but I say it again: China is not really the best place for a one-nighter with a lady. It is more expensive than the LOS, more difficult to find, and there is an ever present danger of getting caught in the latest campaign again social evils (like foreign devils getting down with wholesome Chinese maidens).

 

 

 

If you are willing to spend some time there, you can hook up with some good wife material if that is what you are looking for.

 

 

 

If you are in Beijing, by all means try to meet the ladies. But make sure you leave some time to do the tourist thing. Beijing has some truly awesome cultural sites (Forbidden City, Great Wall, etc.). Oh, and don't forget to try some Peking Duck.

In Beijing, I was approached by several girls, all of whom said they were students promoting local artworks in their friend's shops, and there was a sale going on. Felt like the Chinese version of the gem scam. I declined all offers.

Just out of curiousity, where were you approached about this? The incident I mentioned occured on Wang Fu Jing road, the fancy tourist/shopping area a few blocks east of the Forbidden city.

Just got back from Beijing April 18th and yes the college kids on Wangfajing street are art students trying to make a few bucks. I must have been stopped by 20 teams in the 3 days I was there. If you just want a bj go to any barber shop(not the one in a major hotel) and ask for a massage. It will cost about $10 for the masssage and another $25 for the bj. The massage will be with your clothes on, they will unzip you when the big moment arrives. Enjoy

Whenever I'm in Beijing I stay at the Kempinski Hotel. Inside the Kempinski complex is the 'Salsa Cabana' bar. There you can find many beautiful girls. Some are from Mongolia and want to earn big bucks in China. If you take a girl from that bar you'll most probably have no problem to take her to your room (that is if you stay at the Kempinski). I believe they pay the elevator gards some percentage of their earnings. However I once had some problems with a lady I took from a different establishment. Only after long discussions I was permitted to take her to my room.

 

 

 

As for the comparison between Beijing and Bangkok. Beijing has still a long way to go if it really wants to match Bangkok. This also goes for the rather business like approach of Chinese ladies. Somehow more to the West. This is at least my experience.

Right on Tiananmen Square and inside the Forbidden City itself. The road you mention, is that the big pedestrian street? I believe I was approached there, also.
