Pom Michael
Anyone know of the proper terminology for a group of Mongers? You know - like this:- A wake of buzzards A brood (or clutch) of chicks A sedge of cranes A murder (or horde) of crows A dule of doves A convocation of eagles A stand of flamigos A flock (or gaggle or skein) of geese A pack of grouse So, a xxxx of Mongers? The week of 15-22 May is the time to head to Clark - Cebu Pacific had a super saver sale on fares the last few days - a round trip to either Clark or Manila from BKK was about THB 3,000 only. MooNoi
My personal fave is "a schlong" of mongers. Not to be confused with a "flange" of hookers. :hubba:
Stickman
These types of words are called "collective nouns". A search online doesn't seem to come up with the correct collective noun for a bunch of mongers...
LizardKing
Actually, not meaning to embarrass the teacher, but wouldn't that kind of word be a classifier versus a collective noun? It is one of the things I struggle with in Thai, as they as just as many silly words for this as we do in English. A good primer is here: http://www.learningthai.com/classroom/classifiers.html
robaus
You could edit wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_collective_nouns_by_collective_term_L-Z How about a "molestation of mongers"? Gives us all an update on the bar scene after your visit. I may end up living there if they move the goalposts in Thailand.
