Mekong
Jitagawn 1,000 baht is equivalent to 10% of monthly salary for average Thai Family. In UK average income is £26,500 so equivalent to £220 fine in UK. Assure me many drivers in UK have got away with less than that.
Boo Radley
Actually, I think in the UK, drivers often get off with similarly lenient sentences for such 'accidents'. Anyway, RIP. jitagawn
Frankly I had no idea that was the case in the UK for such accidents Back in the states it would be probably be the slammer or litigation from the family members for years... In any event ,a very sad accident.
radioman
Certainly once upon a time it might have been hard to prosecute someone in UK for a similar accident. Driving without due care and attention would have been about it, which carried back in the day a fairly lenient sentence structure. Today it might more likely be Causing a death by dangerous driving that I think has a mandatory prison term, suspension unlikely unless hugely mitigating circumstances, or rich! Coss
Not mitigating the tragedy, but it appears they were lucky not to have been killed prior to this from gunfire.

waerth
The whole dailymail website is blocked in Thailand I believe. Some ways around that: Tor, VPN or Socks (if anonimity is not required)
