Coss
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/politics/news/article.cfm?c_id=280&objectid=11176510 excerpt: Five years ago this month, Gore predicted that the "entire North Polar ice cap will be gone in five years". But five years on, the North and South Poles are still capped in ice. Arctic Sea ice is within a standard deviation of the "normal" line, and global sea ice is above normal. Specialist
http://www.huffingto..._n_3832273.html ... While global surface temperatures have not warmed significantly since 1998, other studies have shown that Earth’s climate system continues to warm, with emerging evidence indicating that the deep oceans may be taking up much of the extra heat. That extra heat is expected to be released back into the atmosphere in the coming decades. Even with a slowed rate of warming, the first decade of the 21st century was still the warmest decade since instrumental records began in 1850. ... Right. The reason the Global Warming crew quote short-term numbers, and NEVER go back more than 800 years, is that Greenland's glacier formed 800 years ago. Prior to that, the Viking settlements included dairy farms. It is HARD to graze cattle on an ice sheet... We have beaucoup written historical records from that period. The people of that time SAW the glaciers forming, SAW them creeping South, and they pulled up stakes and went home when the glacier got far enough South. But Al Gore and his buddies want you to believe that Greenland has always been covered in glacier. What's a little thing like basic American history between friends, right?
