Coss
Me too, what you said, even a single shot hunting rifle. Here in NZ, gun ownership is legal but not military style guns generally. People are licensed, guns are licensed, generally these folk (with very few exceptions) cause no problems. Most problems are caused by unlicensed folk and guns. This is not a reason to abandon the license process. This is a method to identify criminals. In the past, a lot more people had legacy guns from decades ago, but vast numbers were voluntarily surrendered, some, like my dad's .22 were destroyed at home. In NZ the fact that someone is unlicensed, has or presents an unlicensed gun is a very serious crime. So only the foolish or most committed crim's do so. It does help that NZ is an Island state and that illegal trans-national gun traffic is virtually unheard of. As a Nation, the people have managed to get guns under control, mostly. Flashermac
Thanks - not. I really didn't have to relive that again. I lost a buddy to a severed femoral artery, nothing we could do to stop it. And as castles, not grunts, we didn't even have a medic with us. We lost both him and our platoon leader. Coss
Sorry for that, 'twas intended for those who think having a 'shooter' is a macho and glamorous thing.
