2? Looks like 4 to me, then again not had my eyes tested for over 5 years.

Actually your “Application Error” theory could come into play, but maybe not as imagined

The article stated “Beneath the slab, there are support beams designed to bear the weight.” What if the support beams ware also removed with the slabs during the night time to allow full access and one or more were not fitted when the slab(s) were put in place during the day.

In this case the Engineering May have been correct but the implementation (application) of reinstating the slabs was incorrect (failure)

You are absolutely correct. My guess is 4 pre-cast panels placed on an structural steel support which was not designed to cater not only the lowest common denominator in Thai society but their construction industry in general 😄
