I then hide most of my cash. I usually have about 10k bht on me. I hide 8k and leave 2k in my pants I don't keep any valuables in the room. Note that this isn't the first time a person on this board says this happened to him because of a girl from Soi 7 beer garden. So watch out. After hundreds of go-go and beer bar drinking sessions, I've never known this to happen, either first or second hand....until my last trip. My best friend claims that someone put some white crystals in his beer--he saw them on the inside of the neck of his beer. He's sure that it wasn't ice. After fiddling with his beer and trying to figure out the situation, he just left the bar (on Soi Cowboy) and moved on. He didn't want to stir up any shit, on such a fun vacation. Watch your drink at all times. 2. The 'when in doubt, don't' rule. If anything seems suspiciouis leave. 3. Mykal I never thought of the putting it on the titties trick, so I guess make sure you shower with her or just don't suck the titties. : ) (same for the coochie and for those into rimming this applies to yiou too: ). 4. Keep valuables out of the room when you have 'company'. 5. Avoid freelancers as much as possible. 6. Check with your hotel to see if they have surveilance cameras (doubt it), a guard or someone or someway of possibly identifying the person if that happens. 7. Anyone else have some thing to add????? If I can work it into the conversation I ask if I can see it.) I also try to go out with other falangs when I hit the town so that they can watch my drink and vis versa, not to mention safety in numbers. Usually these girls have one or two girlfriends with them when they are out, and after a while you see the same faces together which is probably better then if she's alone and you've never seen her before. In general, if I haven't been with her before, I am always more vigilant and pay more attention to what she says and especially what she doesn't say. I look at her body more carefully looking for the unusual, signs of drugs (the IV type), signs (God forbid) she's a lady-boy, bruises, tattoos and scars and VD (herpes, etc.) And, I always want to know what's in their purse! As you pass the cam, smile, point to the cam and say "Hey, look, a security camera." She will be less likely to rip you off if she KNOWS she's being watched. Pissed as a fart, I was staggering back to my hotel along Walking Street when a freelancer propositioned me. Last thing I remember was passing out on the bed. Woke up next morning 1,500 baht lighter (that's all I was carrying) and alone. Don't think I was drugged but I learnt a few lessons. 1. Don't get too hammered unless you're with mates. 2. Never carry excessive amounts of cash with you. 3. Always use the safety deposit boxes. 4. Have the girl leave her ID with the guard and tell him that before he returns it you want him to call your room to get the OK if she leaves alone. A bit of a hassle I know and it may cost you a 100 baht tip, but it's not a bad insurance policy. This system is used in all the Love Hotels in Japan if someone wants to check out early by themself. I can't imagine having to maintain that vigilence and frame of mind at all times. I vacation to relax. I won't attempt to give any advice but will say that last time I went to Soi 7 Biergarden and visited the bathroom there I saw a couple of guys come and take a piss while carrying their beer. I realise now that they were being smart. Did you discuss your trip details with this girl such as how long you'll be staying in Thailand? My guess is that she won't show her face again at the Biergarden until you're out of country. However as this robbery was so succesful and lucrative for her then my guess is that she'll be back looking for another victim.
