Old Hippie
I have found it is always cheaper to bring wine or champagne with you if possible. Duty free may not be much of a bargin, if it is anything like the US duty free shops!
buffalo_bill
True. Champagne is terribly expensive in Thailand , duties I guess. Bottle of really good Champagne , Pommery, Taittinger , Moet & Chandon should be about 20/25 USD . That is what it costs in Europe. Bbill
Old Hippie
About the same prices here. Moet Chandon has a Campagnery (SP) here in the "Napa county wine country." It's called Domain Chandon, the stuff is decent, and starts around $12 a bottle depending where you buy it. I am thinking of bringing a few bottles over as a few people (Thais) have asked about it. There was a Wine shop in Ploenchit center, but I think it was mainly Italian stuff, not sure if it is still there or not.
Guest
for the big weddings in Thailand where do you think the wine and champagne is bought..definitely not the hotel and definitely not in Thailand. It will more than likely be bought in Cambodia or Laos.... Sanukboot.
