Zaad
As a young boy in Holland my real name (zair, portuguese name) was too hard to be pronouced so my friends twisted this into Zaad (which means seed). This became my nickname ever since. And now here in LOS my nickname is being twisted into Sa_ad. So I better stay here before I get name-changed AGAIN. I kinda like it though....I'm teacher CLEAN!!! ::
khunsanuk
Hi, One of my friends is called Raymond. He at one time worked on Ko Chang for a while and his name got twisted as well. The people could not pronounce Raymond, so it became Laymon fairly quicky. Did not take that much time for them to change that to Thai: Manau (i.e. lemon) Sanuk! Straycat
guava fruit = 'farang' in Thai but 'buksida' in Isaan I'm more thinking about Yehtmae, is it what I think it is? Otherwise, I think 'Kwaimaisaabai' [sick Water Buffalo] is a great name!
