  1. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1082213/rice-traders-assets-to-be-seized B7bn in assets to be seized from suspect rice traders This is a big event - surprised that it is not discussed more in the news.
  2. Or "sell" (give) to someone? But actually I just had a shipment come in from Amazon - about $200 dollars of items - paid 600 baht duty.
  3. I've always taken my spare change from my pockets and put into jars, piggy banks. A few years ago I bought a really big ceramic pig and started filling it up. Now after about 5 years I swear the thing weights 30 kgs. To heavy to move around and about ready to break the shelf. So - time to cash in. But how? I'm not going to count them manually and put into rolls. Do any Thai banks have change counting machines?
  4. 4 full channels of beIN Sports - starting Monday, 8th August. http://truevisionsgroup.truecorp.co.th/channellineup_web/1/?ln=en
  5. What is the best way to watch specific Olympic events in Thailand? I saw a few minutes of the opening ceremony on Channel 3 (33). https://www.gogoflorist.com/blog/2012/08/how-to-watch-the-olympics-in-thailand/ The best way to watch the Olympics is totally free, and it is by far the best, no if or buts. The IOC official YouTube channel has live streaming of all the events. You also have the choice of full 1080p HD, so you can just plug in to your TV if you so desire. The live events start at 8:30am London time, under the picture you will see the available live channels, normally about 10 different live sports. Unlike the Thai or BBC coverage, this is not country specific, which is great. On the right you can also select a repaly of every sporting event. In the menu near the expand the screen option, you can select your resolution if you have a big screen and for the Spanish speakers, most of the sports also have Spanish commentary available as well. Many sports in my opinion are great with no commentary, just select “Natural Soundâ€.
  6. Well, my 3 years of watching a total of (0) English Premier League games (at home) are over! http://www.bangkokpo...gets-epl-rights TrueVisions, the country's biggest pay TV operator, has successfully acquired sublicensing rights from Qatar-based BeIn Sports to broadcast English Premier League (EPL) football matches for the next three... Whose turn to open the yearly threads? Premier League 2016-2017 in Sports & Leisure Fantasy Premier League 2016-2017 in Football
  7. Any idea what is happening this week to cause such massive traffic backups every evening this week? A normal journey that would take 55 minutes with no traffic has taken 4 hours on Monday, 3 hours on Tuesday and god knows how much longer tonight. The google maps app is basically solid red on every expressway, and most major roads. Crazy!

i've got a MINIX NEO X8-H Plus (quad core media hub for android) - never been able to figure out how to get it to work. Anyone interested in it?
  10. PM - how about section 44? Use it to put him behind bars - let him continue to fight the case - only he sits in jail (due your special section 44 powers). See how much they delay the court proceedings then.
  11. Bumrungrad has (in my opinion) gone downhill significantly over the past years. Their shift to the Middle Eastern medical tourism trade changed their staff's attitude. Also, when you pay a (big) premium for their care, I expected much faster service.
  12. Didn't take too long to figure out the real problem here...... http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/954489/hua-hin-clip-leak-caused-more-harm
  13. Never heard of any issues - be using ITunes for many years - have both a USA account and a Thai account - each one can only access their respective stores.
  14. This is just too good! Worth the full 21 minutes! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGc2nN9OguQ
  15. Hypocrisy to the max by the FBi/US Gov. Can't allow those Chinese technology companies to sell to the US Government (over perceived security risks) - so now it goes back the other way! http://www.ibtimes.com/china-bans-apple-cisco-systems-government-use-cyber-security-concerns-or-market-1829564
  16. Here is a good read from Stickman - http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/StickmanWeeklyColumn2012/Mama-Noi.htm
  17. Something is wrong with that article - Chuwit was the developer of the land. He was the big guy calling the shots. The military was just paid help that he used to carry out the dirty deed.
  18. Unbelievable - at first I thought this was an Onion piece or something like that. http://www.bangkokpo...ared-of-scandal Outrage, questions after Malaysian PM cleared of scandal Malaysia's official explanation of the US$681 million that ended up in Prime Minister Najib Razak's personal bank account - it was an entirely proper gift from friends - has triggered derision and fresh questions in a country already well-used to allegations of graft. Well, I guess it is good to have such good "friends" like the Saudi's. But ..... just a simple question - when Mr. Prime Minister received the "gift", would he have owed any taxes?
  19. It has been available on TrueVisions every year in the past. I see ad's on True for it - so expect it available this year too.
  20. Netflix is now fully available in Thailand. Already set it up - can put it on the TV, desktop, laptop and phone. Works great. Now need to figure out what I want to watch.
  21. Stayed at home this year - actually that has become my MO the last few years. Anything happen - I'm hearing some noise about Soi Cowboy / Dollhouse - anything special this year?
