Grabii
Utah, Have you discussed it with your fiancee? It's her family after all, and for you to be happy in your marriage she has to be happy ... You two have got to be able to discuss issues like this with each other. Regards, JEff Says utah2001: Here is a different twist to this whole debate: What if the parents are basically not really decent people? There are numerous reasons why I've reached this conclusion. My finacee's family wants 200,000 and 10 baht gold - none of which will be returned, yet it was grandma who raised and cared for my fiancee while she was growing up. Mon and Dad live in a small house with running water, toilet, stove. etc., yet grandma lives in what could only be described as a shack. As near as I can tell, parents do not support grandma. Is there a way I can by-pass the parents and give everything to grandma? I mean this in all seriousness. I don't have as much of a problem with the dowry as I do with who it is going to. Any advice would be appreciated.

We're in Thailand, let's not forget... And just how may I ask are you gonna estabilsh that fact? Cheers Hua Nguu
