think_too_mut
>I suspect that some of us arent comfortable with 'sex worker', Nooo...that's what officials in Oz say...BGs tell about their coworkers "wok bah". BG is the term I guess. That's all I wanted to say.
ALHOLK
Hi! It's probably due to me not being a native English speaker. I have never really understod why I'm a professional but a carpenter or cobbler is not. I do know enough English to not adress a female lawer as a working girl. However I would probably ask her how much she charges for a blow job. :grinyes: :grinyes: regards ALHOLK
Guest
Maybe the term "soh pheh nii" would be more appropriate. I am yet to meet a "lady" "working girl" "bg" in Thailand that finds this term derogitory.

think_too_mut
>Maybe the term "soh pheh nii" would be more appropriate. Is it how they say it? I heard "sophanee". Somebody told me it's not a derogatory term (something like a "geisha" in Japan) but I would not call anyone that name.
Guest
I guess it is one of those cases of ...not what you say but how you say it. Most girls with a grip on the situation shouldn't have a problem with it. Of couse there are also those ones who are in denial, similar to punters who refused to be labelled as a sex tourist i supose. But maybe this tread should be moved to the language section. To make a joke and enhance my point: according to the pic in your avatar, you will never be called "sophanee". Agree, the language section would have answers. Cheers! Guest
Maybe the term "comfort woman" would be better although that conjures up images of sex slavery imposed by the Japanese Emperial Forces circa 1933-1945. Nope we better scrub that one also.
