Old Hippie
I don't believe there is a bar by that name, there is/was a massage parlor by that name, not sure where, maybe Ratchada...?
Guest
I can't read out of OH posts that he claims there is a bar with this name. However, from my memories the following map should be up to date: - http://www.bangkokbob.net/soi33.html
kamui
Latest from BKK Post Public to have their say on legalising prostitution Minister admits sex sold in parlours Anucha Charoenpo The Justice Ministry will hold a hearing next month to gauge public opinion on legalising prostitution. Justice Minister Pongthep Thepkanchana said he wanted to hear more opinions on the issue, which had been discussed at several seminars held by NGOs and social workers. ``We have to admit that sex services are still available in many massage parlours,'' he said. However, he denied that the bribery scandal involving massage parlour tycoon Chuwit Kamolvisit had prompted the hearing. :: Mr Chuwit, who has been charged with employing prostitutes and the demolition of Sukhumvit Square nightstrip, says he bribed police to get them to turn a blind eye. The justice minister said the outcome of the hearing would be presented to the government. The date for the forum, to be organised by the Rights and Liberty Protection Department and Justice Affairs Office, has not been set.
Guest
Ah, the public input gambit. That shouldn't take more than a decade. Unless it then necessitates a commision to study the public input ( plus 5 years). All of which will call for a review committee to consider the information........and pass it on for another final judicial review. Of course this is before it goes before a legislative committee to study the proposed proposal. guess my grandkids are safe.

As is the following quote, which lends considerable credence to the view that the crackdown on MPS is prompted by Khun Chuwit. However, he denied that the bribery scandal involving massage parlour tycoon Chuwit Kamolvisit had prompted the hearing. Now is the same true of the crackdown on bars? Guest
If prostitution is legalized, it will be good for you and me, and the girls. The group that does not like this is the sex club owners, the toots, etc. Can you imagine mamasan paying tax on her income? What is better is trying to explain why she pays tax on 100,000 baht per month, when before, she never paid tax. As a side line, the government is going after those that have acquired material assets illegally through the sex trade. This should be interesting as it unfolds. Guest
There have been several opinion pieces in the English language Thai newspapers suggesting that at least decriminalizing prostitution is the only viable option. It will be an interesting show. And it will be interesting to see if the show lasts past APEC.
