soongmak
for me it caused trouble to use one and I have never had a problem because I am not using one I can totally relate to that. My computer crashed when I removed my anti virus software last sunday. Funny how the software that's supposed to protect us can cause so many problems as well. Cheers! khunsanuk
Hi, "How risky are these risks really?" Okay, my estimate: 63 intrusions blocked -> likely no risk at all, fairly harmless (ISP server trying to get the name of your computer for instance) 22 intrusions considered a risk -> guess these may be a bit risky, but still I kinda doubt they would be a real danger to you or your computer 2 cookies blocked -> again, no risk 21 tracking URL's blocked -> and again, low risk, likely sites just trying to keep track of you while you move around their site (possibly to track a affiliate ID or something. ALHOLK
Hi! A Firewall comes in handy to protect you from unsollicited inbound traffic, Protection from unwanted outbound traffic is even more important. Some free firewalls can't manage this. BlackIce Defender is one of them or at least used to be. regards ALHOLK
..
"Protection from unwanted outbound traffic is even more important. Some free firewalls can't manage this" Zone Alarm does this. I have to let it know if a proggie is OK to use the internet once, always, or never. Cheers, SD
