I hear what you are trying to say and you are partly right. I would argue that the nightlife is the REAL Thailand too. To be more accurate it is a segment or facet of the REAL Thailand. The negative conditions in the REAL Thailand that you speak of are reasons for many Thai women to enter the nightlife scene. Every country is going to have a nightlife scene but in Thailand the poor educational system, grossly uneven distribution of wealth, overly corrupt law enforcement system, weakened civil rights, lack of employment opportunities etc, exacerbates the number women who enter the scene.
