I used this expression just the other day with a bunch of local thais about a girl we all knew who had indeed "just been used and then kicked out". They were all familiar with the expression but somewhat astonished that I knew it as well I didn`t really, not until I read the post by Beach in another thread. Mentioning to Thais that my little one is 'son' or 'son maak' gets normally very understanding responses, so kiddos may be considered to be 'son'.
