Why I say it is crap, even based on statistics is that my BMI is 29 (6'4"/240#) while hers is 21 (5'4"/125#). We are the same age. Females statistically live longer than males. Bigger people die sooner. Playing with it some more, it seems that a lot of weght is given to "mode." I consider myself to be optimistic while I think my wife is normal. If I plug in optimistic, her life span goes to 6/57 and mine when set to normal crashes to 6/38. That seems like way too much difference IMHO.
