thai3
I don't buy this colonial empire ending after WW1,if the Germans had suceeded with their plans does anyone think they would have retreated from all the countries they had occupied, including north africa? Of course not they would have become colonies, and it's arguable that they already were. Why is it OK for comediams to make fun of the Nazi's but not for other folk to? People attending fancy dress parties are not serious about what they are dressed up as.It wasn't a political rally after all and I don't see what difference him being royal makes. It's not as if he had been goosestepping around shouting Heil Hitler. Maybe we should make it illegal for people to hold fancy dress parties as there is always going to be someone dressed up as something that 'offends' someone somewhere.I hope the royals carrying on offending people, Prince Philip is my favourite especially his comments on chinks and indians, very amusing. Calling Harry's mother a stupid tart just because she knew how to use the media to her advantage seems to have nothing to do with the matter.-peter
Guest lazyphil
The sooner we stop paying for these inbred assholes and become a republic the better, oh, and this doesn't mean I'm a socialist or anti Britain, it really annoys me when I say (not only here) things like this I get accused of been unpatriotic, I dont equate being a fan of the inbred fuckwits and patriotism as bed partners, ridicules!...I've got English (and some Scots) running through my veins, Prince Philip is a fucking *greasy* wop, he should piss off back to where he belongs and eat Fetta cheese or whatever muck they eat there! spirit_of_town_hall
I am sure Germany had interests in Africa well after ww1. What about Namibia. I think like a lot of people these days you want to find outrage when it is not really there. Harry didnt chose to be born 3rd in Line to the throne, like any 19 year old he is capable of mistakes. Calling Princess Diana a tart is bad manners. What evidence is there that Harry is a spoilt brat? e. STH

Guest
>>>Calling Princess Diana a tart is bad manners. <<<< it would have been nice if diana would have behaved with the style her position demanded. unfortunately though she prefered to act like a bad mannered slut (remember that historically embarrassing interview where she admitted adultery?), and made an international laughing stock out of your royal family. >>>>What evidence is there that Harry is a spoilt brat?<<<< for example appearing in public with a nazi uniform and thinking he can get away with it. it does not matter if he has chosen to be born royal, he simply is. he surly takes advantage enough of the priviledges, but he does not behave with the necessary responsibility. honesty, if that family does not come up soon with a bit more class, i am all for lazyphil's suggestion. Guest
>>>Why is it OK for comediams to make fun of the Nazi's but not for other folk to?<<< because that brainless spoilt brat is neither a comedian nor other folk - he is the third in line of the throne. if he wants to be a comedian or other folk - then he should stand down, give up his priviledges, and work for a living like other folk. spirit_of_town_hall
He is only 19, just left school. He is about to join the army. Thats working for a living and starting at quite a young age. I really think a lot of the anger towards Harry is jealousy. He is a young man of great independent wealth and even more family wealth and influence. During the last year he worked with poor people in Africa and people suffering from AIDS. Thats more than a lot of people on this board have done. Every aspect of his life is examined and photographed whenever they get the opportunity. Could any of us say here that if that happened to ourselves there wouldnt have been times when we had poor judgement, made a racist or sexist comment etc This reaction is actually jealousy, plain and simple. Guest
how do you explain that most other royal houses of europe (other than the grimaldis, but they are anyhow just brigands) are not scandal riddled and followed by the press to the extend the british royals are followed? could it be that they behave a bit more according their position? has nothing to do with jealousy, he simply is a disgrace, plain and simple. i do hope though that he goes to the army, preferrably to a unit that does teach him manners. chuckwoww
elef said:Hi chuckwoww, "More PC BS IMO." The question is what PC BS is in this case - normally I agree with your POV, but for a family paid a lot of money for representing their country it must be acceptable for a majority of the tax-payers'. I think you're missing the point elef. We all know the Royal Family are a bunch of rich twats poncing of the nation. It's politically incorrect to defend them. And they don't have a clue about public relations. But what happened here is Prince Harry wore a not very imaginative outfit to a private party. He wasn't representing the country. He wasn't goosestepping down Oxford Street. I think his mistake was not to make it funny enough. He should have worn a Hitler moustache and a Prussian helmet then everybody would say "Oooooh that Harry, what a card!'.
