That particular pharmacy ... KS Pharmacy on Suk between Asia bookstore and Robinson's ... is a good one.

 

However, if you go in and ask for Xanax, and they don't know you, it will be hard to get.

It seems like a lot of guys out there are quite content to pop these prescription drugs which have very adverse effects.

Obviously a pill taken occasionally is not going to do much harm but regular usage is very dangerous.

 

There are lots of herbal products that are useful for sleep problems like valerian, passionflower , chamomile. Calcium tablets also work.

I think melatonin is also used for jet lag.

Hi,

 

I know you said "thanks for all positive input" but just a word of warning here.. I've seen what people are like when they're trying to come off Xanax and it isn't pretty... it is really difficult: insane mood swings, paranoia, psychosis, severe shakes.... extreme depression. It also does damage your liver.

 

I can understand that you find life easier with Xanax but wouldn't it be better to find a natural way to make life easier... meditation, exercise etc...?

 

Just a positive suggestion.

I would have to agree with you, Fidel. I have had a sleep disorder where I get 4-6 hours of sleep a day. When ambien came out (they advertise is on Television heavily in the U.S., along with viagra, cialis, etc. ), I thought that I would try it once or twice in LOS but could never find anyplace to sell it. I did find someplace to sell valium and took it twice (once two pills with no effect and once with 4 pills and I got 8 hours of sleep) but I don't think that I would take it regularly because of what you said. I've learned to live with my sleep disorder and nodding off in late afternoon or early evening and not sleeping on long haul flight (or any flights for that matter). Presently, may 88 year old father takes at least 14 medications a day and I take none. If I live to be his age, I'll probably be taking more medications than he is now, so I'm in no hurry to start.

I was refering to intake of Xanax at nighttime, not during the day long. OK you may have a different experience but I didn't have much to complain about when quitting Xanax, just the not so good old ways.

Exercices? Used to do a lot, didn't change much my sleeping patterns

Meditation?? uh... wrong adress

Ambien works best for me on the long flights. When awakening, there aren't any of the sluggish effects.

 

I've used valium as a muscle relaxant (not quite as effective as flexeril - cyclobenzeprine) for spasms. Recently I purchased an anti-inflammatory (arcoxia) for a neck injury. The pharmacist recomended muscle relaxants; but, I declined as I was not familiar with anything from his selection ... seemed to be all generics.

 

Frankly, for the money, I think a good massage is a better deal for relaxation and for muscle spasms.

Got back on sleepimn pills a coupe of days ago - Imovane tablets I found over the counter in yangoon- much better for business.

Back on a regular rythm. Up and working efficiently at 9am, boozing and eating at 6pm,drunk at 7.30, 1 or 2 birds in bed at 11 and sleeping around 1am. How peaceful to have a regular rythm !
