Should show the face. Should show, but looking at the picture, what type of person it is, their "Character". and idea of who they are, are they nice are they grumpy (shoot me now) are they poor, manual worker, office worker, bed worker? Below are some examples of portraits. Note how some are close-ups of just a face; some are from the belt and up; some are full-body shots. But all tell something about the person, whether in their expressions or in what they are doing or how they are dressed. They tell something about the person?s character or reputation, perhaps.
