fatbastard33
I was wondering what happens when there are those no alcohol days in Bangkok eg Buddha's birthday, is this applicatble to the bars in Bangkok airport? I was thinking especially about the Thai lounges on the departure side of Bangkok airport. Cheers Fatbastard33
Old Hippie
Hmmm....not sure, but you might be o.k. to buy a bottle in Duty free and take it out...as for the lounges...I am sure they uphold the law (wink wink)...
Flashermac
A lot of top hotels will serve alcohol in their bars on the days it is supposedly banned. I suspect the airport will be the same. p.s. In recent years, the govmt has even forced the Seven Elevens are groceries to stop selling alcohol on those days. Used to be you could buy something to take home, but now you have to do so in advance.

If they are after passport control, then in theory, they are not in Thailand, they are in "no-man's-land" and not subject to local laws. Therefore, they can sell or give away alcohol on those days. Nervous_Dog
Years ago in Brisbane the only place you could buy booze on a Sunday, late at night, or holidy was the airport. A fact few people new, except some very serious drinkers. DOG
