Flashermac
Good Lord, is "Cha cha" still alive? (Ain't his name. It means uncle.) He must be well up in years if he is. John Everingham put up the money for the restaurant, which explains why the restaurant always featured Australian wines. Most interesting that the history of the restaurant mentions Everingham's "dangerous affair with a Laotian woman called Keo". Hell, he spirited her out of the country by scuba under the Mekhong and he divorced his Thai wife to marry her. The papers worldwide made a lot out of the romantic adventure and Michael Landon made an almost comic book film about it. But since Mr E is no longer married to Keo, she seems to have been downgraded from to merely "a Laotian woman". Interesting way to put it. (Their son, Ananda, is a well known young actor here.) http://dirckhalstead.org/issue9710/everingham.html http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/movie.html?v_id=127166 (I love the Boris Badenov comment! ) http://www.idolworld.com/actor/ananda/ananda_01.html

sakoni2002
Bukhara is the tops!! It is between Soi 7 and 9 just the the footbridge of Skytrain. I have tried many over the years whilst in Bangkok and Bukhara does it for me every time. it is owned by a Sikh family and you really do get authentic Indian food. Try their Chicken dishes. The prices are very resonable for the quality of food. Most of it freshly prepared hence the wait. In my opinion, it is harder to find a better restaurant even in the UK.
