khunsanuk
Hi, Anybody know what 'luui' means? One of the girls in the office wore a nice skirt yesterday with a rather large split up the side, so I made a sexist comment on it (as one can do in Thailand without fear of a feminazi jumping down your throat ). She responded with saying "Luui KS" (I think), then started laughing (a bit embarressedly I got the feeling) and would not repeat the comment, nor would she tell me what it meant. So, anybody have any ideas? Sanuk!
Nervous_Dog
Has the wife stumped - maybe she said Bi Loiu or Mai Loiu, either go away or come here???? DOG
khunsanuk
Hi, No, it's not pronounced like that. The 'uu' in it is like in 'duu' (to look at). Sanuk!
Nervous_Dog
That's how I said it to DarLek, butthe best she could think of was the above. Maybe ask you wife DOG
khunsanuk
Hi, "Maybe ask you wife" Considering the circumstances in which it was asked, I do not think that would be prudent My impression was a bit that it might be something like seduce, provoke, turn on, etc Sanuk! khwaimaisabai
Hi ks, Maybe nothing to do with it at all, but GF (currently visiting me from LOS) said yesterday that she had bought a "grapao luui". This turned out to be a handbag in the style of Louis Vuiton. Probably not helpful. Khwai

Old Hippie
O.k. just ran it by the waitress at the local Thai take out...she says it is Lao/Issarn dialect and means "...if you like it so much, get over here and use it you big Dutch stud, quit boring me with your attempts at flattery and put that toungue to work on this..." (she grabbed her crotch for emphasis) or something along those lines...
