PP
Why would you want to add water to alcohol???
..
Check the stuff sold in Carrefour and let's know if it's the real stuff or not. The Absinthe in the Duty Free (different brand than at Carrefour) is about $50 a bottle so presumably is the real deal? It is real only if the label mentions wormwood (or less desirably, thujone). That's the magic ingredient. Otherwise, it's just high octane hootch/sid/booze/etc. There's no regulation, so anyone can call anything Absinthe if they want . Absinthe FAQ. CTO
I read the whole FAQ, including a line "Do you want to set yourself on fire" I had a sense of Deja Vu! However it didn't say where I can buy it in Bangkok Just as well I don't want to set myself on fire!

PP
This is the stuff sold in Carrefour http://www.absinth-guide.de/en/absinthe-212.html So seems at least the real thing if not the best?
Dumsoda
PP Your post is not logical!!! Earlier you say they sell it at Carefour @ 875 Baht per bottle.... But the Airport DF good one is 1680Bt... ..yet the web page you linked( assume this is European) says Euros 29.50 per 0.7 Ltr???????????? So Carefour in Thailand is selling at 50% BELOW Euro prices???? Is Carefour's a 0.3 ltr botten, by any chance??? You say the Carefour one is ..."the best"???? But the linked report says....Nothing special, however drinkable!!!! ...Hardly....The best...IMHO Chalk & Cheese.... Bit like saying Lao Khao compares to Krug Something does not add up here!!!!! ......Oh for a pleasant "Death in the Afternoon".....or 7.... samak
i had moonshine-Absinthe with 80% alcohol content years ago. was pretty strong but i did not kill the whole bottle like Suadum, so i can't say whether it is hallucinogenic! PP
No Dumsoda, I'm saying the one from Carrefour is not the best, but it is a real (or at least recognised) Absinthe brand. ie. it's real although it's not the best. Yes it's a 0.7litre bottle in Carrefour, so yes selling 50% below Euro prices if you're conversion rate is correct (I don't use Euros so didn't bother checking) The bottle in the airport was a different brand though.
