PP
Does anyone know of places in Bangkok or Pattaya that rent out medium size mini vans? Something like the Toyota Estima or Kia Carnival which are enough to carry 6 people comfortably. I don't want a 12 seater mini bus or a 6 seater Toyota Wish type of vehicle, I'm looking for something comfortable to travel upcountry in for a couple of weeks. Thanks guys. kwai_hai
Try this number 08 1804 9936. If no good drop by the Marriott. There are generally a few parked there waiting for clients. I found one at the back of Pratunam near the Indra Regent Hotel I think. Cheers,
Old Hippie
Also try Soi 5 Near Amari. But I assume the poster is maybe trying to rent one he can drive himself?
elef
Just ask the hotel reception - all thais seem to have a "cousin" owning and driving mini vans. 2-3000 baht + petrol for a day or 4000 all included, if you need more than 1 day also add 2-300 baht for hotel for the driver. elef
Drive himself is stupid and will cost 2 k baht more for every day so in that case rent from Avis instead...

PP
Thanks for the help guys. Yes I'm looking to drive it myself which is why I don't want a big 12 seater. I've tried Avis and Budget etc. and they only have the smaller people movers (Toyota Wish type) which can't carry 6 peoples' luggage, or the big mini bus type (Toyota HiAce or Commuter)
Nervous_Dog
The toyota Hi Ace is very easy to drive, not hard at all and no longer than a large car! Youd be surprised how easy it is
PP
I've driven mini buses before N_D so that's not the problem, I just wanted something with a bit of a comfort factor, seats and space wise, for a drive to Chiang Mai and back with 6 people.
