Steve
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070705/ap_on_re_us/teen_sex_case ...serving a 10-year sentence for consensual oral sex with a 15-year-old... Genarlow Wilson has been in prison for two years for taking part in the sex act when he was 17 years old.
Flashermac
I thought 17 was underage too. So apparently if a couple of 15 year olds shag each other, they both go to jail?
Neo
The older goes to jail and if they were born on the exact same instant, they have a run off with rock, paper, scissors.
lembeh
Wont argue the pros and cons of this case, but these little bits caught my eye: "of a man serving a 10-year sentence for consensual oral sex with a 15-year-old, joining hundreds of supporters" and "Wilson's lawyer, B.J. Bernstein, had sought to get Wilson released on bond while the appeal moved forward". (my underlining).. LOL... -j-
was_usvirgin
Is this the same kid who was a top student and a promising football prospect? Not that it makes any difference, just maybe a very similar high profile case I saw on the news recently. I don't agree with Sharpton playing the race card, as usual, but if minors having consensual sex with other minors is illegal, then I should have served my 10 years a long time ago. This is simply wrong. Again, I don't know if we're talking about the same case, but take a kid who has everything going for him, take away his future and introduce him to prison life. Yeah, that's going to make society better. Pisses me off.
was_usvirgin
"Wilson's lawyer, B.J. Bernstein, had sought to get Wilson released on bond while the appeal moved forward". That's because BJ, being a white Jewish male, probably got off a number of times for the same offense. (my underlining)
Flashermac
Virgie, this is the same guy. It was in the news around a month ago. Looks like he lost his appeal.
was_usvirgin
Oh...thanks...sucks! There should be riots over this, and I don't mean race riots.
