Fiery Jack
Question: If I take a taxi from the Airport to my hotel in Bangkok can I get a receipt from the Driver ??? Never saw it before myself but just asking anyway. Thanks. Let's see. The last Thai taxi feller that drove me offered me; Sexy lady cum hotel room Soapy massage Plastic spider framed in a plywood and perspex case Thai massage Go shop make suits for you Ayutthaya Go watching naked lady with ping pong balls Thai carving Find hotel Go Pattaya cum home same day Two sexy ladies cum hotel room Thai grass Go dinner river cruise on brother's boat Discount tour of wat something or other Go som tam restaurant Ray Ban aviator-style sunglasses with one lens slightly damaged Go watching naked lady with snakes Trip to cousin's jewellery shop Ink tattoo Henna tattoo Soak in water temporary tattoo transfers (set of 5) Go see floating market Zippo lighter the size of a shoe box Surefire winner game of cards with his mates Sexy man cum hotel room ... Then again, he only took me from Soi 4 up to Soi Cowboy, so I was barely in his cab for a few minutes. He might have offered me a receipt if it had been a longer ride. jack
shygye
If you need a receipt, take a limo for 700 baht. Ask the rep at the booth for a receipt. No ploblem, just more than twice the cost of a taxi.
rchapstick
If you need it for tax reasons or for business reimbursement, most companies/tax agencies have a threshold level (say, $25US) below which they do not require a receipt. A BKK cab should cost less than $10US. If you really need a receipt, overpay and go the AOT Limo route, or get your hotel to pick you up and add it to the bill. CTO
Green taxis some times can print a receipt, something I found amazing
Hamokhamok
Thanks Jack I think you've covered everything here. The receipt is for business purposes so maybe I'll go for the costlier car. No big deal I suppose. Thanks for all your suggestions.
WorldFun
I think I also was amazed to be given a receipt one time perhaps it was one of the green taxis also? However just like in other SEA comparable cities such as Manila, Jakarta etc where city taxi receipt is uncommon, unheard of or rare I usually write my own receipt & submit file it for expense claim without a problem. Though as the price is so low compared to other expenses like 5* hotel stays etc I these days rarely bother to even worry about taxi expenses, toll way fees etc. ;-)
Hamokhamok
My plans have been changed now. Receipts won't be an issue. I'm not now going to be supported for my next visit - even though I'll be attending a convention but I won't be there all the time so I shall be enjoying myself now that I'm not being supported anymore. :nahnah:
