I know Piggy.....but I have something important to ask another board member before I can give my answer. I need someone to walk me down the aisle.......someone to give me away on that special day. In times when men were granted few privileges and even fewer personal rights, the groom was literally given away to the bride, usually in exchange for monetary gain. Today, it is seen as symbolic of the blessings and support of his union as a promise of continued trust and affection. When the question is asked by a clergy during the ceremony, "Who gives this man to be married to this woman," I want to hear the response, "I.....Tiger do."
