Julian2
Most professional chefs seem to learn on the job. They get a job as an apprentice or kitchen hand and take it from there.

khunsanuk
Hi, Have you looked into government schools? My wife did several baking courses at a government school in Huay Kwang. There are loads of these schools all over the city and they have a wide range of classes. Obviously they are not as prestigious as the Dusit or Blue Elephant, but they are also a LOT cheaper. Sanuk! gene1944
Dusit Cooking school on Silom (I think) is supposed to be excellent. There is another one in soi 33/1 (at the end )called UFM or UCJ or something like that. I think they had a branch school in Siam Square offering various classes. drogon
KS: Would you please ask your wife where she went for her baker courses? gene1944: Thanks we will try to find the adress and the precise name, any feedback about the quality of these courses? Yes Dusit school is the best but 500K bht for a 9 months courses is a bit steep...... Other than that there are many short-term cooking classes but mainly catering to tourists. -> trying to find Thai and bakery cooking courses.
