Last time I was there, a couple of other guys and I hit Pratunam Market, then walked up to the skytrain, past the World Trade Center mall. It is a HIKE, and you wind up almost precisely halfway between the Ploenchit and Siam skytrain stations. You can either walk on the ground, to one station or the other, or go into the mall and take the skybridge out onto the skytrain walkway, and then walk to one station or the other.
