Julian2
Margaret Thatcher famously said that the facts of life are conservative. According to Faust, to be conservative is racist. Therefore the facts of life are racist. According to Margaret Thatcher.

Flashermac
<< 20 Marines were there to protect the property and were armed to the teeth. They "talked them out of it." >> Bit of overkill, wasn't it? Seems like a couple of armed Marines would have been more than enough. p.s. Remember the ROK vets who guarded buildings during the LA riots?
Bangkoktraveler
People from Iowa are mostly farmers and farmers know their position in the government's food chain; like at the bottom so they don't expect help from the government whereas those in New Orleans are also at the bottom of the government's food chain, but they don't realize it. Faustian
Please enlighten me further. That strikes me as a fool's errand. So you're not going to tell me what you mean? You've dangled the carrot. Another example of your inability to follow through on things. You really are a troll.

rogueyam
So you're not going to tell me what you mean? You've dangled the carrot. Another example of your inability to follow through on things. You really are a troll. It is you who are trolling on this thread, Faust. Instead of merely asking tendentious questions and making unsupported accusations against other posters, why don't you state an opinion on the subject of the thread? Do you think that there is anything revealing about the response, so far, of the Iowans to the flooding in their state as compared to that of the New Orleanians to Katrina? What does the following statement mean to you, Faust: "The difference is not in the severity of the flood, but in the people who confront the flood."
