CTO
Shygye thanks for that - sounds exactly like what killed a good friend of mine in KL a few months back.
exit2dos
I like the new Bangkok Dangerous and thought Cage was great. After reading all the carping, here, I thought it would be horrible. The whole movie was excellent. I enjoyed everything but the deaf mute romance. Over all I liked it so much I may see it again. exit2dos
The big disco with all the girls in costume was cool. I liked the visual shots, of Bangkok buildings from helicopters and the Bhudda cave, The credits were 99% Thai. I want to see it again, on a big screen. playtheblues
The remake is the most horrible movie I've watched in my life. Just watching it and I agree. I thought I had seen the worst when glancing at Thai TV soapies but this movie - with an exceptionally corny Nicolas Cage in the lead role - is even worse, because of its ludicrous pretention that some authenticity (night life scenes etc) will make it a good movie. There are many unintentionally comical scenes in the movie such as the sequence when Cage is sitting with GTG and he is dressed up in a white shirt and NECKTIE. But even funnier is his threat to the gangster chief: "If I see any of your people again I will kill your wife" and then a face shot of the fat wife! I really doubt that any Thai-Chinese poo yai, with scores of pretty mia nois would conceive this as an effective threat...

Hugh_Hoy
As bad as the Cage version was, I'm confident that any "prequel" would have been better. Totally stupid movie. Wasn't in the theatre here but about 3 weeks. Word spreads quickly when a movie sucks. HH
playtheblues
...but then, surprisingly, the movie suddenly got better! Any one else fed up with those neon-like colour casts in most movies these days? And the gritty texture?
cavanami
No, I saw the original and was not impressed. The Cage movie was OK...IMO
