Buckley had his time and his role. He dedicated a good portion of his career to patiently and politely explaining conservatism to people who were genuinely ignorant on the subject. This is a new time. Today most leftists falsely pretend not to understand conservatism as a tactic of advancing leftism. There is no reason to think that Mr Buckley would advocate pretending that those who lie about their understanding of conservatism should be catered to if doing so harms conservatism. The research is worthy of most peoples attention, but it is understanding how it relates to other things that is the key. I'm pretty sure that's beyond you at this point in time.
