A deceptive description as the army vet is a name actor, and producer, but who takes a back seat mostly in this cliché driven melodramatic sports soap opera on water, that sinks under its own dumbed down caricatures. Based on the novel of the same name, this three hour plus movie has everything, fine cast, performances, cinematography, enthralling crime story. Worth seeing. For those who like apocalyptic psychological thrillers, this has a good cast that engage the audience, unfortunately portraying horrible characters in an unimpressive story with a dumb ending.
