The Killer [2023]

After a fateful near-miss, an assassin with a penchant to music by The Smiths battles his employers and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn't personal. Straight forward thriller with a more style and modern vibe than anything of substance. Very watchable nevertheless.

Nyad [2023]

The remarkable true story of athlete Diana Nyad who, at the age of 60 and with the help of her best friend and coach, commits to achieving her life-long dream: a 110-mile open ocean swim from Cuba to Florida. Two well established female leads keep this story afloat with great performances. Worth seeing.

Heart Of Champions [2021]

During their last year at an Ivy League college in 1999, a group of friends and crew teammates' lives are changed forever when an army vet takes over as coach of their dysfunctional rowing team. A deceptive description  as the army vet is a name actor, and producer, but who takes a back seat mostly in this cliché driven melodramatic sports soap opera on water, that sinks under its own dumbed down caricatures. Pass on this one.

Killers of the Flower Moon [2023]

When oil is discovered in 1920s Oklahoma under Osage Nation land, the Osage people are murdered one by one - until the FBI steps in to unravel the mystery. Based on the novel of the same name, this three hour plus movie has everything, fine cast, performances, cinematography, enthralling crime story. Worth seeing.

The Holdovers [2023]

A cranky history teacher at a remote prep school is forced to remain on campus over the holidays during 1970 with a troubled student who has no place to go. This low key bittersweet US drama is one of the year's best movies.

Leave The World Behind [2023]

A family's getaway to a luxurious rental home takes an ominous turn when a cyberattack knocks out their devices, and two strangers appear at their door. For those who like apocalyptic psychological thrillers, this has a good cast that engage the audience, unfortunately portraying horrible characters in an unimpressive story with a dumb ending.
