Coss
MobLand - TV series Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, et al Guy Ritchie also directs a bit and produces. I'm 6 episodes into this, waiting with anticipation for the remainder. This is very good. "Tom Hardy's gruff charisma is put to good use in MobLand, a gangster saga that hardly reinvents the genre but nails its conventions with crunchy style and memorable performances." Coss
The Courier (2020) is an English movie directed by Dominic Cooke. The film takes place during the height of the Cold War. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Greville Wynne, a middle-class mid-level British business man. Oleg Penkovsky, portrayed by Mereb Ninindze, is a high-ranking Soviet official who knows that there's a real chance of nuclear war. British intelligence recruits Wynne to make a connection with Penkovsky... Very good, fine acting.
Coss
Tantura 2022. 1h 34m In the war of 1948, hundreds of Palestinian villages were depopulated. Israelis call it 'The War of Independence. Palestinians call it 'Nakba"'. The film examines one village- Tantura and why "Nakba" is taboo in Israeli society. --- A credible docco style offering, with a massacre of the villagers, being central to the story. There are "Truthers" and "Deniers" a plenty. So soon after the events in Europe, this movie serves to demonstrate that, Humans are an evil bunch and that "History is written by the victor." No more sympathy for the Jews of Israel, from me.* * I have written elsewhere that I once courted the lovely Shona, but her parents shot me down. on account of I am a Gentile. So I am not anti semite, but I am disappointed, in a love lost.

Palatkik
The Ballad of Wallis Island [2025 Movie] An eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island tries to make his fantasies come true by getting his favorite musicians to perform at his home. A low key feel good drama set in wonderfully remote UK island setting with enough gentle humor to keep it on tune that never falls into the schmaltzy category. A spin off from the 2007 short movie The One and Only Herb McGwyer Plays Wallis Island by the same lead actors and writer. Worth seeing.
Palatkik
Warfare [2025 Movie] A platoon of Navy SEALs embark on a dangerous mission in Ramadi, Iraq, with the chaos and brotherhood of war retold through their memories based of actual events. One of the most forceful brutal depictions of a single modern warfare incident made in cinema, superbly crafted movie.

Palatkik
The Penguin Lessons [2024 Movie] A disillusioned Englishman who goes to work in a school in a divided Argentina in 1976 finds his life transformed when he rescues an orphaned penguin from the beach. Based on a true experience, a complex story to tell about a penguin in an Argentine dictatorship, makes for an novel movie, the subtle understated humor carries and otherwise flat production.
