Obama Administration Orders FBI to read Miranda Rights to Terrorists

Ah excuse me, but we are not on a battle field, neither are these rag heads...they were arrested/detained/rounded up etc, and brought to a holding area...Guantanamo? Now, they are going to court. Our system has rules, and yes, we should follow the rules, no matter what. Then we can honestly say we fried them fair and square. Or else they had a fair trial and were let go. Either way, it is the way we do business here, so do it. Deteriorate the process for one case, and then all others start to go that way, until YOU have no rights.

If you go beyond the headline, first look at the source (Faux News) and the subject (wacko republican congressman), and then perhaps bother to read the whole article, it does not sound so awful...

"U.S. commanders told FOX News soldiers are not reading Miranda rights to detainees, but those commanders could not speak to whether the FBI was doing so. The practice has not been instituted at detention facilities in Iraq or at Guantanamo Bay, according to U.S. senior military officials.

Asked if the Obama administration had ordered that Miranda rights be read to certain detainees, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said, "I have no reason to disbelieve a member of Congress. But I don't know any of the circumstances that are involved around it."

But Gibbs acknowledged that it wouldn't be a surprise to find out that it was happening.

Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd denied there has been a policy change covering detainees.

"There has been no policy change nor blanket instruction for FBI agents to Mirandize detainees overseas," he said in a statement, adding, "While there have been specific cases in which FBI agents have Mirandized suspects overseas, at both Bagram and in other situations, in order to preserve the quality of evidence obtained, there has been no overall policy change with respect to detainees."

Now mind you, this would only seem to apply to FBI interrogators, not combat soldiers. And even then, there does not seem to be a change in policy here. So why are YF et al getting panties all tied up in a knot?

"...So why are YF et al getting panties all tied up in a knot?..."

Because it is the opposition doing it...same as if GWB insisted on it, then we'd be ragging...all part of the show...keep us at each other's throats, and as long as we are, the government can keep screwing us, and we will keep blaming the other party...

OH...spot on!

It doesn't matter right, left, lib, con, etc the gov keeps trampling on the US Constitution and the people keep getting screwed!

Right now, Ron Paul (Rep from Texas) has HR 1207 bill to audit the Federal Reserve has now gained the 222 co-sponsors necessary to send the bill to the House floor.

If this can actually happen and the media will report on the real findings, this will be HUGE...we will see...

Obama clearly stated in an interview on 60 Minutes that he would not give detainees miranda rights. Now he is? I just don't get the man.

It ain't up to Obama to decide who gets what rights...now should any of these fuck nuts be found guilty (my guess is they will all be found guilty) would you want to then later set them free because some technicality was violated? fuck no! So do it right, by the book, and there will be no argument from anyone...well of course there will be, but fuck them, we will have done it right.

If Bush had decided these people had rights, you'd be praising it...so again, go with the law, and after their fair trial, we can execute them.

Say that again...

This is fucking nuts. :content:

On the battlefield you are supposed to drop a dime and call the American Criminal Liberties Union and ask them to come out here to the bunker to represent some dude you just took a pound of C-4 off of...along with an AK 47 and a map of area surrounding HQ? LOL. OH' date=' you should know better. BT, suggest you go live in Russia for a few months and criticize it's government here on line...then [b']try[/b] to come back and tell us your thoughts about the U.S. being no better.

HH

Isn't the USSR type people who hate such groups as the ACLU?

So what do you want to do with these prisoners? Leave them in the USA's Siberia?

Now lets see, if these men are allowed to rot in prison, who else will be going there to rot? And how many people will have to rot in prison before somebody says "Enough!"?

I just heard on a news show, that it was Bush who wanted to make sure all prisoners were "Mirandized." This was back when HE was running the show...

Seriously Dude, you need to get over the pointless bashing and bitterness, you are way to young for it.

Save the bitter angry resentment to enjoy when you are our age. :)
