Obama Administration Orders FBI to read Miranda Rights to Terrorists

A senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee is accusing the Obama administration of quietly ordering the FBI to start reading Miranda rights to suspected terrorists at U.S. military detention facilities in Afghanistan.

The move is reportedly creating chaos in the field among the CIA, FBI and military personnel, according to Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. The soldiers, especially, he says, are frustrated that giving high value detainees Miranda rights -- the right to remain silent, the right to an attorney -- is impeding their ability to pursue intelligence on the battlefield, according to a story first reported by the Weekly Standard.

"What I found was lots of confusion and very frustrated people on the front lines who are trying to, well, make Afghanistan successful for the United States and its allies," said Rogers, who serves on the House Intelligence Committee.

Rogers, a former FBI special agent who served in the U.S. Army, just returned from Afghanistan and a visit to Bagram Air Base, where he said the rights are being read.

At one point, the US was presumably on a mission to export freedom and democracy to needy nations. I guess that wasn't supposed to include miranda rights.

The US should amend their mission statement to be the spreading of freedom/democracy unless it gets in the way of ass kicking.

No it is not nuts, it is how we operate. It is what sets us apart from the nut jobs who want to impose their will on us, and take away our rights.

Fact is, these ass fucks want to destroy our system, expose hypocrisy etc...so why let them? read them their damned rights, give them a fair trail, and be what this nation is about, and show the fuckers we do it by the book here! Same for all people etc...That is after all what we were founded on, and what we are supposed to stand for.

If they were guilty, they would have been tried and sentenced a long time ago. Instead, they rot in their cells which deteriorates what the USA should really stand for. We criticized the USSR for doing such shit, but we ourselves are now doing the very shit we critized others of doing.

We are no better.

On the battlefield you are supposed to drop a dime and call the American Criminal Liberties Union and ask them to come out here to the bunker to represent some dude you just took a pound of C-4 off of...along with an AK 47 and a map of area surrounding HQ? LOL. OH, you should know better. BT, suggest you go live in Russia for a few months and criticize it's government here on line...then try to come back and tell us your thoughts about the U.S. being no better.
