I just heard on a news show, that it was Bush who wanted to make sure all prisoners were "Mirandized." This was back when HE was running the show...

Seriously Dude, you need to get over the pointless bashing and bitterness, you are way to young for it.

Save the bitter angry resentment to enjoy when you are our age. :)

I just heard on the news we are spending 200 Million Dollars to ship 4 Gitmo detainees to a tropical Island. 55555555.

Yup, the GOPers have picked a new toy to play with, and they're hoping, once again, that Americans won't know that they're lying. It's the height of cynicism, and it's politics at its most insulting, but it's worked before and it will work again...until the "liberal" media returns to dealing in facts and not opinion.

BTW YF & HH, to clarify, Miranda rights are not something we're *providing* prisoners: everyone who is detained already has Miranda rights; these rights are inherent through the Bill of Rights. What we're doing is informing the prisoners of their Miranda rights, because if you don't inform them, you run the risk that the conviction can be overturned.

Cheers,

SD

And would we need to do that if GWB hadn't fucked up in the first place? What do you suggest we do with these people? Kill them? Keep them in prison for how long at what price? Face it kid, your shit bag idol Bush left a mess for someone else to clean up, and as long as it is the other side, you are happy to bitch. Were it your own, you'd be singing thy praises... Obama didn't create this mess, Bush did. You are much too young to be spooled this tight.

YF...the Administration has denied the 200 million figure as of today.

OH...so, it's okay for libs to bitch about things under GWB, but "no fair, I'm gonna tell mommy" when conservatives disagree with a lib Administration? Well, I say "tough shit" to those who can't take it. :content:

Obama knew what "messes" he was gonna inherit when he ran for office. Rather disingenious of him to squak about it now. Under Obama, every fucking thing is a "crisis" or a "mess". And something that needs fixing yesterday. Obviously, he doesn't want folks to have the time to weigh the consequences of some of his initiatives. Force feed stuff and worry about barfing later.

Full disclosure.....Consider myself an independent. Voted for Bush the 1st time around which I later recognized to be a mistake and reluctantly voted for Kerry.

I think that is healthy to debate (or bitch ) about issues and agree with your point above 100%.

I can only hope that people don't brand you as un-American for your differing views as was often the case with the last administration.

Look dude, this is tit for tat...or something here...Look at what we are doing here...arguing about what? who sucks more and worse? Look at the way the government is infighting and finger pointing instead of doing their job.

The original topic here was reading suspected terrorists their Miranda rights, which you and YF shat on. I have since pointed out, that GWB was in fact the one who originally insisted on it, and rightfully so. He should be commended for it. It was Obama who originally tried to take the get tough stance and say "we won't do that" then flip flopped on it, and said we would, and you guys all dumped on him. Now, as it was GWB who originally proposed it, has your opinion changed? It is the right/American thing to do, no matter which idiot president is in office.

The problem as I see it is, to some, it is more important to disrupt any and all improvements any way they can just because their guy lost...just how patriotic is that? The majority of Americans want this guy (Obama) and his policies, you need to accept that. I am not 100% on board but hey, we got what we got, and all the bitching and whining is not going to help that.

Oh and to answer your question, no, liberals (or are they all socialists now?) do not have the monopoly on bitching, but when ever they did, they were, as Damen pointed out, labeled as anti American, unpatriotic etc...so is it ok for the right to be unpatriotic and un American? And don't give me any of that it is patriotic to desent crap, it didn't work when the left tried it, so you can't use it now.

Other than that, how was the game the other night?
