Flashermac
Memories of chapped lips, numb fingers, walking through snow in rubber boots with the tops chaffing my legs ... the puddles of slush and yuck when the snow starts to melt. Even so, winter was fun - until I was old enough to have to shovel off the sidewalk and driveway. Have him give the wife and kid a snow shovel and see how they feel. khunsanuk
Hi, "Even so, winter was fun" Right. I must admit I miss it. That is up to the point I remember having to go to work/school through the snow/cold Snow is a LOT of fun as long as you don't have to go anywhere. Sanuk! TroyinEwa/Perv
I'll agree with that but I had to work airplanes in it for many a winter. THAT is no fun.
Pom Michael
Troy - Wisconsin? Any one who lives north of Ohio is in my mind crazy. Except in Europe - gotta love that Gulf Stream - the damn French Riviera is at the same latitude as Boston! Cheers!
passingthru69
Try working in North Dakota or Minn. in the winter. We have done that a few times. Wife said no more. So cold the gas motor on trailer did not want to start and then it took forever to get the hdy. system to warm up. When we got back last year the truck did not want to start. Found out the block heater was no good. Fuel jelled up, like a slushly cone of diesel.
sanddawg1
After growing up and living most of my life in the midwest USA; and also spending a winter in Alberta Canada in 1999. I don't care if I EVER see another snowflake or a temp below 20C!!! Its the tropics for this dawg!! S1

Bangkoktraveler
I remember one summer on the Fourth of July we still had 'small' snowbanks along our driveway. Later that day I went down to our woods and we still had snow on the ground. One winter it got down to minus 48 and that didn't inclde the wind shill factor. Bangkoktraveler
As for my winters now, I prefer going outside and looking at the oranges on the orange trees. If I want to see snow, I just look up at one of our tall mountains and that is about as close as I get to the snow.
TroyinEwa/Perv
July 15th, small town in western Wisconsin. First flight of the day at 7am or whatever time, the first officer asked me to do an ice check. Conditions required it, supposedly, with a temp below 45 degrees and a dew point above a number I forget now. I knew I had to leave when it was feasible we would have to deice in literally the middle of summer.
