khunsanuk
Hi, I have a fairly large amount of books that I've finished reading already and as they are taking up quite a bit of space I've considered selling them. Found one 2nd book store (Dasa) and have contacted them, but they offer only 20-60 Baht per book. And suggested I drop by with the books so they could decide which ones they want. Must admit that I find those amounts a bit low considering I paid 280-320 Baht/book. So, does anyone know of any other shops I could try? Sanuk! expat
Would it be too much of a pain to post the titles here? You might make more off selling a few at say a hundred baht a shot then selling the whole lot at a bookstore. It might be more hassle than it's worth though (arranging meetings and such) but if you had something like a ten-book minimum per sale it might work out. Encore
I swap them back with a secondhand bookstore, usually get about a 2 or 1 deal
khunsanuk
Hi, No pain at all. Have them all in www.anobii.com, so simply exported the list. I read pretty much exclusively Fantasy though and the collection reflects that. It's attached. Sanuk!
Bangkoktraveler
Have you tried Craigslist?
Flashermac
Khao Sarn Road second hand bookshops charge an arm and a leg for used books. No idea what they pay though. The list looks like the sort of thing backpackers might like.
khunsanuk
Hi, Prices at this shop seem to be mostly in the 120-150 Baht range, which is quite a markup from 20-60 Baht they are willing to pay. Sanuk!
expat
There's a bookstore down here in Pattaya with quite a selection that sells books for charity. They charge 80 baht, and you get back half that in trade, i.e. if you bring the book back you get the next one for 40 baht. I remember the bookshops in Bkk and was always shocked by the prices. cavanami
I have been going to Dasa for many years but usually taking some books and then cashing them back in at Dasa. 20 ~ 30 B is quite low. Did you chat with Don? he always was OK with me.
