Old Hippie
That looks pretty cool! How long is the trip from BKK-Ko Tao?
ozpharlap
From memory, I caught the train at Hopolong station (whatever it is called) in the early evening, say about 7-8pm, it pulled into Chumpon Station at about 4.30am. Once at Chumpon the boat whores come out selling you the boat tickets to the islands (Ko Tao or Ko Phanang). Usually, it is just the one operator (as always, some one has cornered the market and you have no choice). So, to answer the question, you can get to the main station by underground, then a train, then a minibus and then a boat. On Ko Tao everything is walking, and not to far. So yes, no taxi, but a very long way.
ThaiHome
Actually I think the question was can he take the BTS or MRT to get to the Bangkok Office on Rambuttri Road in Banglumpoo. Second post in the thread answered the question. TH
ozpharlap
Yes, I realized that after I posted and consumed my 5th bourbon and coke. An error like that calls for another drink
dddave
Can take the river Express Boat from Sephan Taksin to Phra Arthit pier, probably a 5 to 10 minute walk from there. If you have a lot of time, take the #511 a/c bus from Sukhumvit, tell the attendant you want Koh Sarn Rd. Again, about a 5 to 10 minute walk. The bus trip can take up to an hour from Suk. You can also take the BTS to Ratchathewi. Ask for proper direction to the canal, (Klong) about a five min walk. Take the canal boat to the last stop near the Golden Dome. About a B30 moto ride from there.

ozpharlap
What is it exactly, that is wrong with catching a taxi? Surely it must not be more then 150-250 baht for most places in Bangkok.
