USVirgin
Seems nobody has mentioned Roadhouse Barbecue. I can't vouch for the place as I've never tried it. Not on Sukhumvit, but easy enough to get to.
Old Hippie
I was told by a few guys the food sucked there...but I never went myself. I have a friend who loves Tony Roma's...and ah he's a black guy... Ribs are one of those foods that can be easily messed up and done poorly. Best places I ever had BBQ was in Arkansas and Texas. One of the worst oddly enough was Memphis.
hyaehus
Just to reminisce, the best I've ever had was a place in Angeles City, Philippines called "The Bus Stop" (P4P bar & restaurant) in an out of the way place near the first Swagman Hotel. It was run by a retired Air Force fellow. It went away soon after Clark closed in 1990. Can't remember second best, but New Orleans in Pattaya isn't far off. The sauce there isn't much more than seasoned Catsup, but the tenderness of the meat is wonderful.
cavanami
Seems nobody has mentioned Roadhouse Barbecue. I can't vouch for the place as I've never tried it. Not on Sukhumvit, but easy enough to get to. Roadhouse is OK. They have a good bb'q sandwich, but value vs cost, it rates much lower then the Silver Dollar or The Great American Rib, IMO. Hugh_Hoy
Road House is pretty proud of it's prices for only being "okay". HH
cavanami
Road House is a change, nothing for me to make the special trip to go there but maybe once a year. I can buy ribs for 100 ~ 125 B and then cook them on the bb'q...makes for a fun afternoon!
Old Hippie
Call me old fashioned here, but I believe in stereotypes especially when food is concerned. For really great BBQ, you need to go to a 300+ pound black guy named Bubba or maybe Antone. A 250+ pound Black woman named Rosa or Mable is just as good. Some white guy from Manhattan named Mark or David just isn't going to do it. Call me a bigot, then test my theory and you will see I am right. I loves me some ribs...can't really get good ones in SFO...
Hugh_Hoy
Cav...if u know how to use a pressure cooker, use that before putting them on the grill. (also does wonders with a pork shoulder for "pulled pork" ). Take about tender! After that, it's pretty much which one of thousands of barbeque sauces you throw on them. Old Hippie
You are kidding me right? proves you are a white guy who knows nothing about BBQ! No self respecting brother would ever, and I mean ever, suggest you par boil ribs! this is just sickening!
shygye
If it is not cooked over charcoal or wood it ain't bbq.
