Thailand braced for 'judgement day'

Flash, let me set the record straight on the USA once again. All the Euro trash losers who couldn't cut it at home came here seeking the American way of life, the freedom we offered. They came and set up shop and decided it was cool here.

Soon the idea of America drifted back to Europe, and they started to get it together to be more like the U.S.A. They sort got it a bit, so they stopped coming as much.

Then the trash from elsewhere came here seeking to become free and successful. True we had Indians here before, but they didn't lose land, they gained customers for their casinos! And many went into the 7/11 business...so you see, the USA is great.

As for the Thaksin verdict, today's the day...any bets which way it goes?

They won't take all his money, but they'll take plenty, and Takky'll be seriously pissed, he'll exhort the Somchais to revolution, the thick ones will try, the army will stop that right now! The government will nearly fail, and there'll be a message of vague cohesiveness from on high.

He supposedly had US$4.2 billion seized by the UK! He tried some fiddle when he bought the football club, using phony names and such (as he had done before he became PM here). He didn't realise the Brits weren't going to put up with that. Still, he keeps talking about his gold mines in Africa and has several projects going in Uganda (I think).

He will be cut down to size some, but will hardly be broke. I'd be happy just to have his pocket change. :(

In 30 minutes we'll know how much poorer he becomes. Time to head for the foxholes.

THE NATION

26 Feb 2010

Thaksin insists on his innocence

People's Channel, the pro-Thaksin satellite broadcasting, Friday morning aired a taped Thaksin speech urging his supporters not to assemble at the court building.

Thaksin said he would monitor the live broadcast of the verdict in Dubai and that none of his family members would attend the verdict session.

In his speech and his Twitter message, Thaksin insisted on his innocence, arguing he is not a cheater and that his wealth has been honestly earned and is not ill-gotten gains. :liar:

Ah Ha! I knew there was something dodgy about that deal. I seem to remember him selling it for about 10 times what he paid for it to an Arab gentleman. And I couldn't work out how the club was suddenly worth more.

Now it's clear, thanks for that info.
