I'm 100% for legalization but it must be said that the ONLY reason the state is considering it is their insatiable need for more money. In a perfect world I'd have liked to have the reason be that they have seen the stupidity of demonizing pot but be that as it may, I'll take any excuse. I'm not a pot smoker. I tried it for the first time about 5 years ago. I got the munchies and that was that. I didn't have to smoke it due to peer pressure as a kid because I was always in sports and had a ready excuse.

Legalizing prostitution is next. It will happen slowly. Escorts probably or maybe way out in the counties of the California desert, a bunny ranch type of set up where its only legal out there. If that happens ironically watch for Nevada money pouring into the anti prostitution side.

I know they were trying but not sure if the state as successful in getting the indian tribes to pay extortion..er..ah...taxes (a rose by any other name) to the state some of its gambling profits. Hmm, I can even conceive 'riverboat' gambling off the harbor near Long Beach or up in the Bay Area. The state will get desperate, trust me, and they will look to just about anything to make money. One can tax cigs and booze only so much. A 'fat tax' on fast food is not out of the realm of possibility as well. That's been talked about in some circles.

The government has its hand in everything but there is still at least one great way I can think of to wash, hide and live a kings life in the U.S. with the government loathe to investigate too much. what? A church! I grew up in churches my whole life. If there is any entity wrought with corruption and open to all kinds of financial abuse its a church. All you anti-religion types would praise Jesus if you knew the loopholes one would have if you start a church.

The goverment rarely investigates them. Only when its too blatant. They are scared to. the first amendment is still a silver cross to the blood sucking government. (yes, pun intended).

You can routinely deposit amounts far in excess of the 10k red flag and as long as 'church' is on the bank account, the government won't do a damn thing usualy. Great thing is these receipts aren't itemized. You don't have to. Also, you can fund jaunts to Thailand, wire money to all kinds of overseas banks without nary a notice if you are canny enough to have a sub account called 'Global outreach missionary fund'. You can save the bar girls of Thailand as a missionary (remember only use missionary position :content: ). Your criminal background means nothing. Ye saw the light and ye were saved. Happens every day. If I were a major meth or cocaine dealer today, I'd start a church. Pay some schmuck maybe 40k a year to start, to be pastor and I was a deacaon or something, that routinely went out on missionary trips. I'd actually have a real church. A church for you all you heathen and unbelievers who criticize religion on here remains one of the best businesses to start in America that is still protected and almost unassailable.

I remember my father saying long ago, "When I was a boy, doctors and preachers were poor people." :dunno:

I may have mentioned a civil servant I knew slightly who build a concrete block building on his farm, got a certificate as a minister from some flaky mail order church group and started preaching to his family and neighbours every Sunday. The reason was to get his farm (inluding his home) declared tax free!
