USVirgin Posted September 15, 2010 Report Share Posted September 15, 2010 I LIKED The Monkees! Even as a little kid, I knew they weren't a "real" band, like The Beatles, but I didn't care. In the 70s, my dad would take me to weekly pick-up soccer matches among the Brit expat crowd in Beverly Hills. I was there for the beer, but would occasionally play if a side was a man short. Lots of celebs played, when they were in town. Guys like Rod Stewart and Elton John, but it was Davy Jones who impressed me the most with his skills...fast little cunt!
